I run my classes at this studio since it was first opened (3 years ago now) and it has been the best decision ever! Not only the space is beautiful and perfect to run any activity, but working with Louise (the owner) it is abolutely a pleasure. She really cares about everyone’s businesses and she is the kindest and beautiful soul. She is always willing to help anyone with anything. Honestly, if you ever need to rent a space, I’d definitely recommend TheHideout.

I met Laura a few years ago now and stepped into her beginners dance class, I had no vibe and felt like an alien. Laura broke everything down so easy to understand, she helped me really step out of my comfort zone, gain so much confidence inside and outside of the studio. By going to Laura’s dance class this was my turning point in my life, and it sounds dramatic but it’s true. I wouldn’t be where I am now if it wasn’t for stepping into that hugely supportive, fun, vibrant environment. I’ll always be grateful to Laura and will never forget what she gave me. Kenzi is so full of energy and joy, and it's infectious! She is also really supportive and accepting, so I always feel at home in her classes. Her afrobics class is a really great blend of intense exercise with really fun choreography. I've danced for a long time but I still find afrobics challenging and fun, week after week. At the same time, I think it's accessible for people who have no dance experience. Kenzi also has fantastic taste in music. I really can't recommend this highly enough!

I started going to Iris’ classes three years ago. I always loved latin music of all sorts but I never had the confidence to express with my body how that music made me feel. Dancing has never been “my thing”, even though I always looked at other people dancing and I thought: “wow, I would love to do that”. Kenzi's Afrobics is my absolute favourite dance exercise class in Bristol, it's so much fun and an amazing workout as well. Kenzi is full of energy and I always leave the class covered in sweat but with a huge smile on my face. She always gives a quick run through of the moves and there is zero pressure, you can follow the moves exactly or bring your own flare, so the class is suitable for any level.

Laura led a dance class for a hen do I organised. She was so responsive, friendly and easy to deal with to organise the session in the run up to the day. She accommodated our needs and choreographed a fun 90s boyband routine for a group of 20. None of us are natural dancers and Laura was patient, fun and energetic throughout so that everyone had a really good time. I'd highly recommend her! Laura taught me recently as a special guest teacher at a dance group I go to. Laura was amazing, her personality and energy was vibrant. She lifted the room with her energy and you could see everyone in the class was feeding from her energy and everyone was having lots of fun. Laura was a brilliant teacher, she went through the steps slowly, got us to repeat it from the top after we learnt sections, so it would be fresh in our minds and went round the whole class to make sure we were all ok and if we needed any help with any of the moves. I tried a few dance groups that were a bit intimidating when you didn’t know anyone. Laura’s class has been so so welcoming and laidback, but also ends up with some fab looking dancing that I just want to share with others! I have not once yet felt like I stuck out for missing weeks/not being perfect and while I’ve always felt encouraged and confident in her class she’s never singled people out or pressured anyone to do anything they don’t want to! I’ve only been to a few of her classes this summer but I plan to go every week now after finally finding the most fun thing to do on a Sunday! Her dances are so sassy, great for beginners (but still challenging so you work up a sweat) she goes over things loads and she herself is so funny and friendly! Would recommend to anyone like me who was a bit nervous to try something new, these classes really put a smile on my face!

Had such a good experience on the complete beginners course with Laura! One of the main things she did (or didn't do) which i LOVED was not making us split into separate groups to do the routines. I always hated that at other classes because the other group would watch and I'd mess up and feel embarrassed or inadequate. As a complete beginner it was so refreshing that Laura didn't do that! Everyone was so lush and I am definitely continuing on to the beginners classes :)

If you're thinking of joining Laura's beginner's class but are feeling a bit nervy, definitely go for it! I'd just moved to Bristol, knew no one, and am NOT a dancer - but going along was the best thing I could have done to settle into the city. Laura's class is the highlight of my week, it makes me feel pumped every time and I've met some great friends there. As for the dancing - Laura makes it SO accessible - she's as hilarious as she is a brilliant choreographer, so you never feel too far out of your comfort zone. and are just having a tonne of fun to music :)

I signed up for Laura’s complete beginner’s workshop but was so nervous. I thought I would be too old, too unfit and completely incapable of learning to dance but I needn’t have worried at all! Laura is so welcoming and enthusiastic (but without taking it too seriously) I had so much fun. Laura is such a good teacher and makes learning the routines so easy, she even sends out videos of the class so you can practice at home. I would highly recommend even if you think you’ve got two left feet and no rhythm like me!
